Impact over laws and rules governing the profession
FFDA’s lobbying team has been in place for many years providing continuity and insight found nowhere else. The FFDA team either works independently or in coalition with other groups such as cemeterians, pre-need representatives, funeral industry consultants, and other public interest groups, depending upon the issue. The laws and rules affect your profession more than anything else; membership in FFDA puts and keeps you in the loop.

FFDA Political Action Committee
The PAC raises money and is a focused source of support for legislative campaigns and causes that the Association feels would be most beneficial to the Industry and the public it serves. Florida Funeral "Director"
This professional quarterly magazine discusses timely issues, new laws and rules, information about activities of others in the profession, new products and services, happenings of national and international scope, and the activities of your Association and its members. It comes with your membership; otherwise the subscription rate is $30.00 per year. Firm Member
The total amount for the Firm Membership is based on the number of calls reported to the State’s Division of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services for the previous year. The firm membership shall be one (1) licensed funeral director, either owner or manager, who shall be designated as the ACTIVE FIRM MEMBER. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription and also entitles the member to vote and hold elective office.

Dues Calculation
$3.50 per call for the previous year plus $100.00 base dues. For newer firms who were not in business in the previous year, minimum firm dues of $250.00 will be assessed. (Minimum dues of $250.00, maximum of $1500.00) $3.50 x # of calls in 2006 + $100.00 = Total Amount Due
Firm Branch Member
$255.00 per year
Any other firm location owned by the same individual or company within the same county as the Firm Member would qualify as a Firm Branch. The firm branch member shall be one (1) licensed funeral director or embalmer, who shall be designated the active Firm Branch member. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription and also entitles the member to vote and hold elective office.
Firm Individual Member
$135.00 per year
Shall be a State of Florida licensed funeral director or licensed embalmer presently associated with a FIRM member of FFDA. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription. Entitles member to vote and hold elective office.
Cemetery Member
$250.00 per year
State of Florida licensed cemetery associated with a current FFDA member funeral home. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine and the right to discussion and debate. Member cannot vote or hold elective office.
Intern/Student Member
$0.00 per year
Interns and/or Mortuary Science students who are registered with the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and are currently working for a non-affiliated FFDA Member Firm or enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of Mortuary Science. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine and the right to discussion and debate. Member cannot vote or hold elective office.
Retired Member
$60.00 per year
State of Florida licensed funeral director and/or licensed embalmer that has retired and is no longer associated with funeral service in any other capacity. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription as well as entitles member the right to vote in association elections.
Supplier Member
$250.00 per year
Funeral supply salespersons, manufacturers' representatives, allied industry representatives, or accredited educational institutions in cooperation with the funeral profession in Florida. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription and also entitles member to right of discussion and debate. Member cannot vote or hold elective office.
Non-Firm Individual Member
$160.00 per year
State of Florida licensed funeral director and/or licensed embalmer not associated with an FFDA Firm Member. Dues cover FFDA membership and magazine subscription as well as entitles member to the right of discussion and debate. Member cannot vote or hold elective office.
